If you have been diagnosed with low bone density, osteopenia or osteoporosis and would like to know how to adapt poses to keep your body safe and promote bone and joint health, this workshop is for you! Learn to strengthen your upper back to support good posture; open and elongate your spine for healthy spinal discs; discover how to safely perform forward folds and twists; care for your wrists and neck; mobilize, strengthen and protect your hips; and learn techniques you can use in any yoga class or in your home practice.

Susan Chormann

Susan has been practicing and studying yoga since the mid 1990s. She became a certified instructor in 2001 and has been teaching consistently for over 14 years. In addition to her 200-hour certification, she is certified in trauma-informed yoga, Love Your Brain yoga for traumatic brain injury and concussion, yoga for pregnancy, yoga for children, yoga for seniors and Thai Yoga massage. Susan has also done extensive advanced training in yoga therapeutics, anatomy, mindfulness and energy studies. She has taught at area health clubs, yoga studios, hospitals, senior centers, synagogues and businesses in Acton, Concord, Carlisle, Devens and Lincoln. Her inspiration comes from numerous yoga styles, decades of dance training, and from her sensitivity to her students’ needs and energies.
