Healthy, Happy Shoulders Workshop (Studio)

Do you have tension and tightness in your neck and shoulders? Would you like more flexibility and ease of movement? Many problems with pain begin with poor mobility in the shoulders. And what goes on in the
shoulders, affects the neck and jaw. The way we hold ourselves (bags on shoulders, looking at a computer screen, poor posture, or time spent on mobile devices) create all sorts of imbalances in the structures of the
shoulders, neck and jaw. These often lead to postural changes such as forward head position, rounding of the upper back, lower back discomfort and tension headaches. In this workshop, experience and learn how to create more ease and increase mobility in these parts of your body! You can finally say AAAHHH with joy!

Discover specific stretches designed to bring relief to tight shoulders while freeing the neck and jaw, increasing range of motion and improving posture. Exploration may include self-massage using therapy balls, restorative poses for opening the shoulders and upper body, tie stretches, calm yogic breathing with mindfulness, joint mobilization yoga stretches, foam rollers to aid in deep release, and muscle activation and strengthening exercises. Class ends with a guided relaxation, allowing you to rest deeply and integrate all that you have learned. Leave class knowing several exercises which you can continue to practice on your own to maintain happy, healthy shoulders! Open to all levels. No experience necessary. Personalized hands-on assists or verbal cues are provided for a customized practice.

Karyn Force

Karyn Force, RN, CKYT, BA, Reiki Master, has been teaching yoga and Reiki for over 25 years. She is a 500 hour professional-level yoga instructor and certified in both Kripalu and Ashtanga yoga. Karyn is a Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner certified by the Usui Reiki Ryoho and offers Reiki healing sessions and Reiki certification classes. Karyn’s teaching method provides an alignment based practice with an emphasis on breathing, mindfulness and practicing with a compassionate approach. With an extensive knowledge of yoga asanas, pranayama and Reiki energy, Karyn works with students of all ability levels to customize a practice to meet their own specific needs. She offers private and semi-private yoga instruction, group classes and workshop and specialities such as Reiki infused restorative yoga. She has taught yoga teacher training programs, developed full-service corporate wellness programs and led yoga retreats throughout the U.S., Costa Rica and Mexico. With a deep commitment and passion for healthy living, she inspires and guides others on their own unique path to wellness.
